Mac’s Tie Downs
- Transporting show cars and racing prototypes would be a much riskier business if not for the woven-fabric strapping bands from Colin McLemore, known throughout the industry as Mac, a product-savvy entrepreneur who’s earned the respect of industry pros at every level. Our total brand redesign helps establish Mac’s as more than just tie-downs. Secure transport remains their top priority, but new horizons have been secured.
- Part of re-conceiving the Mac’s brand was demonstrating the new mark in action, shown here across several pages of their extensive parts catalog. A crisp grid and a broad range of images help place these products into a useful context, opening the world of Mac’s to military applications, emergency response gear, even hunting expeditions, showcasing brand involvement from racing on blacktop to kayaking in the great outdoors.
- One goal of the redesign was to help smooth Mac’s transition into retail by creating a shoppable packaging system. Mac’s first retail product, the Pivot lift plate which helps maneuver auto engines in and out from under the hood, needed a reclosable carton for the hands-on automotive market, so we designed a full-color corrugated tuck-box to meet the need. A tight visual system sets the stage for a proliferation of innovative new items.
- Well-engineered products deserve world-class branding, and have earned the right to wear their name on their sleeve. This gorgeous chunk of metal is a detail from the Mac’s Pivot lift plate currently moving into retail. Laying claim to the moody blues and working man’s trade dress puts them in a good position to make strong gains.
