- With the energy drink market solidly serving the teen-to-twenties males, Hansen’s felt there was a segment of the market that could appreciate a more healthful approach to the high-powered punch. Primal Energy was given an almost spiritual incarnation, drawing on tribal art and arcane symbology to maximize the special qualities of this energy drink versus the sea of sameness among competing formulas.

- Traditional juice brands target either little kids or mature adults, leaving a lot of ground in between ripe for picking. Hansen’s aimed this slammin’ juice box at active tweens whose mom’s are looking to provide responsible nutrition without punishing their kids’ taste-buds.
